Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind (CSDB) in
Colorado Springs Colorado.
Thursday, March 7, 2002   It was our pleasure to visit and share.

The Speed Stacks Demonstration Team learned a great deal about hearing and visual impairment.

=

Speed Stacks, Inc. took nine Speed Stacks Demonstration Team members and families to the Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind in Colorado Springs for a 'hands-on' stacking workshop.

The 50 students that experienced sport stacking ranged from third graders to high schoolers.

Sharing the sport of Speed Stacking

"The process used when stacking cups assists our students with directionality, organization, coordinating both hands, focus, as well as giving them a sense of accomplishment."

=

CSDB staff members, specifically the Occupational Therapist, saw the value in doing stacking "because it works on cross laterality with which many of our students have difficulty.

We have found that stacking is a great reward and motivator."

Speed Stacks and CSDB both had an enjoyable time experiencing the excitement that comes with Speed Stacks.

      Speed Stacks are for everyone.

"This was fun, I found something I can do!”

=

Each Demonstration Team member was up to task as they worked one-on-one with students. “Your kids were amazing the way they adapted and worked with students with various disabilities from bright blind students to those with multiple disabilities and cognitive impairments,” Jan Megarry, physical educator CSDB.
