Area XI Handbell Festival Conference, Colorado Springs, Colorado - Sheraton Hotel, June 27-29, 2002.

Speed Stacks, Inc. was invited to present, demonstrate, and teach sport of stacking at the Area XI Handbell Festival.

This includes Handbell organizations from Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming.

Kids involved in the Youth Festival had an opportunity to learn sport stacking as did adults who chose to attend seven stacking workshops.

Handbell choirs see the need for eye-hand coordination, hand quickness and reaction time for all bell ringers. Speed Stacks, Inc. was proud to be a part of the Area XI Festival as musicians work to improve their Handbell ringing skills.

“Thank you this was very fun, and I am going to get some Speed Stacks,” one of the middle school students quoted.

The Children’s Hospital of Denver, Colorado - Wednesday, May 1, 2002.

The Speed Stacks, Inc. Demonstration Team did a one-hour hands on workshop for The Children’s Hospital Rehabilitation Team. Participants included a Physical Therapist, an Occupational Therapist, a Speech Therapist, and a Recreational Therapist.

A high energy, enthusiastic group of professionals learned how stacking with Speed Stacks can be incorporated into therapeutic situations with the kids at Children’s Hospital.

Kaycie La Rock, Clinical Coordinator said, “The demonstration of the Speed Stacks program and discussion of what it could do for the patients here was terrific. We will be happy to use them and we will let you know how they made a difference with our patients.” The professional therapist involved was excited to use them with their patients.

“Run to Read,” Whiz Kids year-end event, Denver City Park - Saturday, April 27, 2002.

Whiz Kids is an inner city tutoring program to help students, ranging from six to twelve years old, with academic needs and provide positive role models for kids. Adult volunteers from all occupations donate their time to help children achieve in many ways.

After musical entertainment, and acknowledgements were given out, the “Whiz Kids” and their tutors had a one-mile fun run. After the run, “Whiz Kids” visited the food booths.

Speed Stacks, Inc. and the Speed Stacks Demonstration Team donated their time to demonstrate stacking to more than 2000 participants at the year-end event, which honored all children and the volunteers of the Whiz Kids program.

Attendees were "wowed"! “I have never seen hands move so fast” one parent remarked. “I want to learn how to do that!” an excited Whiz Kid proclaimed.

One group of Whiz Kids from Eastside Church of the Nazarene learned how to do sport stacking from a workshop a Speed Stacks' volunteer did. Twelve Eastside “Whiz Kids” performed a 3-6-3 relay for the large crowd.
