Christian World Outreach uses Speed Stacks In Africa!

John and Diane Larson took a journey to Africa on January 14 th, 2005 in hopes to share the joys of sport stacking with a community in Burkina Faso. Also accompanying them was their daughter Michelle. Christian World Outreach (CWO) was founded in 1979 to facilitate the youth ministry already established in Haiti. CWO expanded its ministry to Africa in 2000.

 

 
CWO Mission Statement:
The mission statement of CWO is to participate with the body of Christ in responsible evangelism, to bring dignity, self worth and encouragement through leadership development, and to meet the physical needs of people through humanitarian assistance.
 
Speed Stacks lends a helping hand:
Speed Stacks donated 10 sets and a StackMat timer to help John, Diane and Michelle with their efforts. The team stayed mainly in Ouagadougou, which is the capital city. Pastor Michel Ouedraogo is the pastor of a church of 3000 who also oversees 200 churches in West Africa. He has built a medical clinic with dental & optical facilities. He also has an orphanage of 250 children ages from 4 years to 15.
 
         
      John’s thoughts on his exciting mission:  
     

"We stayed at the orphanage with the children & introduced them to sport stacking. What a joy to watch the children learn & play with their Speed Stacks. We taught them the series that Roger Washburn taught us to do. My daughter Michelle was the main teacher, as she mastered it better than the rest of our group. We worked with the children about 200 of them, and watched them learn & play. What a joy to do.

We also had a day that we worked with the youth group from the church. A youth group there consists of young people ages 17-35. They are very competitive to say the least. They really took to sport stacking. The competition was fierce, but friendly. We had about 45 young people there. I can say that with the Speed Stacks we left there for them, that most likely they have been put to much use since our trip. They really had a Great time sport stacking with Speed Stacks."
