When
Speed Stacks learned of young 12-year-old David G.’s disorder,
there was no choice but to get some Speed Stacks in his hands!
Dysgraphia is a neurological disorder characterized by writing
disabilities. Specifically, the disorder causes a person's writing
to be distorted or incorrect. In children, the disorder generally
emerges when they are first introduced to writing. The cause of
the disorder is unknown.
Treatment
for dysgraphia varies and may include treatment for motor disorders
to help control writing movements. Other treatments may address
impaired memory or other neurological problems. Some physicians
recommend that individuals with dysgraphia use computers to avoid
the problems of handwriting. |

| Here
is what David’s mom, Jane wrote
to us: |
"Thank
you for sending my son David the Speed Stacks, mat, timer and DVD.
The cups arrived when my older daughter had some friends over and
they were truly the life of the party. David has dysgraphia and
writing of any kind is not an activity he seeks to do (see homework
sample).
Remarkably,
David wanted to write a thank you to you. Even more amazing is
that it is legible. He is enjoying the Speed Stacks and I do believe
they are helping him (David is 12 and in the 6th grade). Thanks
so much!" Jane G.

This
is David's homework sample his mom sent in to share with us. David
had not begun stacking yet. |
|

This
is a sample of David's note to Speed Stacks that he wrote after
practicing sport stacking. We think he has improved, too
|
No
one knows for sure if David will ever be rid of dysgraphia permanently,
but sport stacking with Speed Stacks just may help with his progress.
We hope to hear more from David and his mom, Jane in the
future!!
