Jackie Colwes, a physical education instructor, notices marked improvement after modeling for students who initially have great difficulty with crossing over – right and left brain activities. Many students begin (pre-instructional) by stacking cups slowly with no rhythmic shortcuts; however, since many are visual learners, Jackie Colwes then models the speedy way to stack cups and students quickly grasp the concept. Once students grasp the concept of stacking on the table, they are able to take it to the next level adding kinesthetic agility and skills for a bigger challenge. To incorporate math as an interdisciplinary activity with phys ed, students record and add their scores in three separate cup challenge skills – 6 cups, 9 cups and rapid fire. For enjoyment and competition among each other, student love to play PIG. Thank you Speed Stacks for creating a unique product for activities that challenge all physical and intellectual levels of my students!! This product has enhanced our program and continues to be enjoyed by many." |
