Speed Stacks & "The Ultimate Substitute Teacher's Traveling Suitcase of Intrigue" - December, 2005

"I guess it could be a substitute teacher’s woe: to belong to the teaching profession, but have no official school to call home. Although, I suppose you could say I belong to all the schools I am called teach in.

Anyway, I was first introduced to Speed Stacks in 2004 at St. Marguerite’s School in Spruce Grove, Alberta, Canada. As I wandered the halls of, St. Marguerite, I would stand in fascination and watch these students work on enhancing their skills in the hall. I could only stop and watch a short bit, because I was on my way to my next class.

Recently, in this same school, I had to demonstrate the Speed Stacks in a Grade 7 class for the students’ health portion as part of their D.P.A. (Daily Physical Activity) fulfillment. As we worked through it as a group, I started thinking that this would be an absolutely fantastic tool for use in the classroom as part of a traveling substitute teacher’s pack. The Speed Stacks intrigue and they have so much to offer and benefit all ages. Seeing that a substitute teacher can bring awareness to classrooms where ever we teach; and, since I am a career substitute teacher, I am always on the lookout for products to use as sanity savers for those days when, students want to attempt to drive a substitute teacher up a wall.

Not any more... I have the solution, Speed Stacks add in, into my wheelie suitcase, “The Ultimate Substitute Teacher’s Traveling Suitcase of Intrigue” (T.U.S.T.T.S.I.) And so, I will be adding in Speed Stacks to my collection.

The Ultimate Substitute Teacher’s Traveling Suitcase of Intrigue story is to be continued… once I’ve field tested it longer. I am taking the Speed Stacks to the road. Summer school, here I come. Okay, well, I have to field test it for a few months yet, once I order them, but I will get back."
