WSSA Mission Statement:
The World Sport Stacking Association (WSSA) promotes the standardization and advancement of sport stacking worldwide. This association serves as the governing body for sport stacking rules and regulations, provides a uniform framework for sport stacking events and sanctions sport stacking competitions and records.

WSSA Changes Name:
"Cup Stacking" officially renamed "Sport Stacking"
The World Cup Stacking Association (WCSA) has announced a name change of the sport it governs. Beginning January, 2005, the sport of cup stacking will be officially termed “sport stacking.” The reason for the name change is to give “cup stacking” immediate identification as a competitive sport. In keeping with the new name of the sport, the WCSA has also changed its name to the World Sport Stacking Association (WSSA).

“Cup stacking has legitimately earned recognition as a sport, and we adopted the new name ‘sport stacking’ to better reflect that,” said Roger Washburn, Board President of the now World Sport Stacking Association. “Our Board of Directors felt the name change was important to better capture the energy, skill and excitement of this sport as we continue to grow and sanction more and more tournaments around the world.”

WSSA History in Brief:
The World Sport Stacking Association (WSSA) is a non-profit organization, formed in 2001 in Colorado, and created for the purpose of promoting and governing sport stacking around the world.

Speed Stacks & the WSSA - The Competitive side of sport stacking -

Sport stacking as a stand-alone sport incorporates all of the elements of competition and includes leagues and tournaments around the world sanctioned by the World Sport Stacking Association (WSSA). The WSSA gives sport stackers the opportunity to compete in individual, doubles and relay events at local, district, state, regional and world championships. The WSSA offers complete packages on how to run a league and/or tournament including comprehensive rules, a judges' training DVD, and tournament software.

Though Speed Stacks, Inc. has been the leading sponsor and provider of sport stacking equipment to the World Sport Stacking Association since the WSSA's inception in 2001, the official WSSA endorsement of Speed Stacks products has just recently been formalized. Every cup in new sets of Speed Stacks will bear the stamp "Official Cup of the WSSA." No other brand carries this designation. In addition, the StackMat Competition Timer will continue to be the official timing device of the WSSA. This patented stacking surface and timer are used in all WSSA sanctioned tournaments.
